Ilm Path Academy instructors are more than happy to be invited to your events as speakers or guests of honour. The following page contains the terms and conditions of inviting Ilm Path speakers, followed by an invitation form in the second page. You must read the terms and conditions very carefully before you fill out the form. The conditions and forms are presented for helping us to plan for the event, as well as to determine the seriousness of the inviting organization, and to avoid common problems that happened in the past because of lack of planning on either side.


Terms and Conditions:

Please print these terms and conditions to read them on the day of the event, prior to the event, and during the event to make sure that all guidelines are followed. Also use it as a checklist to make sure that all conditions are met.


1. Topics must be submitted 10 days before the event time for each lecture of the same speaker. So 2 lectures means you need to submit topics 20 days in advance. If the topics are submitted later than the specified period, then the Ilm Path speaker will have the right to choose the topic he’s comfortable with.


2. You must supply us with two contacts that will be present on the day of the event and will be accessible to accept a call anytime during the day of the event and the day before.


3. The acceptance of your invitation will depend on an acceptable amount of advertising. You do not have to do all types of advertisements mentioned in the form, but little advertisement will result in the rejection of the application.


4. The name of the speaker must be spelled correctly on all advertising material. The correct spelling could be found in our “about us” page. Remember, the correct spelling is “Waleed Abdulhakeem.” It is NOT “Walid Abdulhakim”, NOT “Waleed Abdul Hakeem” and NOT “Waleed Abdul-Hakeem.” This is VERY important. Otherwise, the audience will not be able to locate the speaker online for further lectures.


5. If any other outside speaker is invited to the event other than those you mentioned in the forms, then Ilm Path must be notified immediately.


6. If there are multiple speeches scheduled in the same day for a group of speakers, then please schedule our speakers in any time slot you wish EXCEPT the first slot.


7. Question and answer sessions must be moderated and questions must be supplied on cards or papers only, not direct. This rule is for the protection of both the organization and the speakers, since some audience members ask sometimes embarrassing or political questions.


8. Ilm Path may cancel the speaker’s commitment to the event up to 3 days before the event without a penalty. It is your responsibility to always have a backup speaker in case of an emergency or cancellation.


9. For long distance commuting, please be considerate enough to compensate our speakers for their time and travelling costs, as most of them are self-employed and have families to take care of. Please make the check payable to "Ilm Path" and send it prior to the event to 2605 Woodchester Dr - Suite 64 - Mississauga, ON L5K2E3 - Canada. If the event was cancelled, we will send you a refund.


10. It is assumed your venue is equipped with powerpoint presentation facilities. If presentation equipment is not available, please notify us so we would bring our own equipment.


11. The biography of the speaker that will be advertised in any marketing material, or announced to the audience must be approved by Ilm Path, and must be read exactly as agreed. 12. If you are going to advertise the event using Facebook, you must post a link both to the Sheikh's fanpage, and another link to www.ilmpath.com


13. A volunteer must be assigned to perform video recording using our HDTV Camcorder, as well as take pictures with our cameras (or yours) of the speakers, the audience, and the venue, as this material would be used to spread the benefit as well as be used for marketing Ilm Path. 14. Audio or video recording is only allowed by the hosting organization, not by any of the audience members. Any recorded material must be reviewed by Ilm Path Staff before it is approved to be released to the public or sold for a fee. Releasing the recorded material without Ilm Path's approval may result in legal consequences.


15. Children under 7 years old are not allowed to be in the speaking room under any circumstances. It is the job of the volunteers to keep them out as well as advertise this condition.


16. The session's MC (Microphone Controller) must remind the audience to be quite before starting to speak, and should not start speaking until the audience are completely quite. It must be mentioned that anyone who disruptes the speech by talking will be asked to leave the auditorium. Our speakers are not going to speak unless the place is completely quite. The volunteers should continue to enforce this rule throughout the rest of the speech or event.

 

17. A group of volunteers must be present at the venue at least 1 hour before the scheduled speech time in order to: test all microphones, speakers, and echo, test lighting, set up the projector and screen, and arrange seating and tables if needed.
